About Starman

Current Where abouts: Wisconsin, United States

Part Time Raider and father of three, I’ve been involved with World of Warcraft since my friends one day dragged me kicking and screaming into it.

Since then I’ve discovered I’d rather play Wow than watch TV. Primarily I play Alliance and have 3 lvl 70 toons on Whisperwind. Allahanastar – Druid, Skystalker – Hunter, and Earthstalker – Shaman

The above has been preserved for posterity.  Casual Raid Leader (AKA Starman) has been an avid WoW player for going on 3 years.  While to above is a short sweet and to the point note about me I guess I should get you some more information.

This long strange journey began back in the days of young children.  I picked up the game shortly after my second child was born.  All my friends played this wonderful game and for the longest time I was forced to sit there and listen to them talk about it.  There’s nothing more annoying than listening to someone talk about something and having no frame of reference to talk about it yourself.

So after a long and painful drifting intro to WoW I find myself here… talking with you wonderful people.  I’m one additional child more insane and wiser (figure that one out???).  I’ve now experienced to this date all three phases of the current game.  Though my experiences don’t date back to the original release of the game, I have played in the original content before it was a footnote.  I do know why most people hate Murlocs personally.  And yes I remember when Van Cleef was a badass.  (And for those of you who are new wondering who the hell Van Cleef is, theres this instance called Deadmines…. you should look it up ;) )

So following this long dark road, I’ve found myself transforming from the hapless noob into the knowledgable druid, to the hapless noob raid leader, to the tested raid leader.  I survived the various transitions throughout the game and never once uttered the words “The Sky is Falling” unless an Infernal was going to drop on my head or we were fighting Magtheredon.

Its a wonderful hobby I’ve gotten myself into and eventually my wife wore down and came along too.  She’s a great player whose eager to learn.  Our permanent home is currently on Whisperwind.  Its where my long strange journey began and its probably where it will continue to happen as long as I have a home.  Though oddly I’m probably personally responsible for destroying at least two guilds.

Writing has been a hobby of mine for a while and hopefully one day this practice I put forward here will lead to a novel when I realize that I can actually string more than two words together.  Welcome Friends and thanks for checking this site out.
