I’ve decided every expansion has something to teach.  If I were to put one general theme that is overworked in Wrath of the Lich King, I’d have to say its bad stuff on the ground.  Its almost mind numbing at this point.

Floating through Ulduar, you have Razorscale… if it big and blue and flaming?  DON’T STAND IN IT!!!!!

Ignis has this propensity to throw big huge puddle of fire on the ground… if you miss them, you really really need a graphics update.

XT-002…. look see how you’re big and white and exploding?  GET OUT OF THE RAID!!!!

Oh… and that trash after XT?  See the big pokemon balls on the ground?  DON”T STAND IN THEM!!!!

Oh and you know those Iron Council fellows?  Well the one drops a really big sickly green looking rune on the ground… GET OUT OF IT!! What part of this lesson are you missing?

Oh and you remember that Kologarn fellow?  See the big fucking lazers dropping on your head and piercing your feet? MOVE!

Oh and remember that woman with the crazy cats?  See that that big puddle of black nastly looking stuff that just appeared where her cat just died?  See that?  See how long you live while standing in that!!!

Oh yeah… remember those keeper fellows?  What did they teach us?
Thorim…. standing in the way of big explosions from giants is a bad idea… standing where streams of lightning are coming from the wall??? Bad…. bad… bad…

Hodir?  Well I think icicles the size of volkswagens falling on your head are meant to teach you something… I’m not quite sure what yet, but you get the idea.

Mimiron?  Oh him…. he seems to think something silly like… oh I don’t know… avoiding falling rockets would be a good thing?  Don’t you think?  Just this once should we watch where our feet are?

Oh.. and that Yogg Saron?  What’s up with the tentacles?  Should we be watching those or standing on them?  Huh?

If you only learn one skill as a raider in Wrath, learn to watch for environmental dangers.  Want to down a boss?  Learn to live… learn to fight on the run.  Learn to not have tunnel vision.  You’ll be a hell of a lot less frustrated.

Oh… and learn to jump up and down, while strafing sideways while chewing gum and scratching an itch… that’s what you need to learn….

You gotta love it, all that with most classes changing to more of a ‘priority’ system than a rotation, where trying to nail every global CD is the goal!
Honestly though, it’s really just a matter of paying attention. I remember times in BC raids where I (as a BM hunter at the time) didn’t really have to look at the screen all that much, just to watch Beastial Wrath, Rapid Killing, and trinket CDs. Honestly having to pay attention is probably better (I know it’s more interesting), and now, lets wonder WHY they’re training us all to pay attention more? What are they going to put us through next?

Honestly if you watch the history of raiding, every instance and every additional raid is about upping the ante. They basically throw new mechanics at you every once in a while, but mostly its about seeing if you can walk, chew gum, pat your head while doing jumping jacks… once youve got that nailed we’re going to add in a bit of juggling.
